Internationally, the Order is composed of women and men,  fraternally united without distinctions of social or ethnic origins, philosophical opinion or religion, working together for the progress and perfecting of humanity. 

It is founded on the ancient teachings and traditions of Freemasonry and works a system of initiatory continuity from the 1st to the 33rd Degree.

Freemasonry is essentially a system of rituals, allegories and symbols with the purpose of developing its members morally, intellectually, and spiritually.  It uses Masonic ritual and symbolism as tools for both self-improvement and the conscious evolution of humanity.

​Members advance through the degrees or levels on the path of spiritual development. The system is designed so that it can be interpreted at ever deeper levels as one progresses.

Working together in ritual emphasizes unity and reminds us that every member has an equal responsibility to work on themselves in order to help humanity evolve.  

When the members are in harmony and working in the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood, the lodge becomes a spiritual family.

Meeting regularly over time, the ritual supports and strengthens the collective consciousness so that members build strong bonds with one another.

​The power of the group becomes greater than the sum of the individuals participating, so that a deep commitment to the ideals of Freemasonry and a strong sense of intention adds strength to the work.

Social justice is a fundamental precept carried forth from our Founders and is a major focus  of the work of our Order in general and of the American Federation in particular.
